INS supports Pancreatic Cancer UK
Earlier this month International Nuclear Services was delighted to donate £6,188.74 to Pancreatic Cancer UK.
Every year INS employees vote to nominate a charity of the year and for 2018/19 the winning nomination was Pancreatic Cancer UK, recognising the research and support that the charity provides to people and their families affected by pancreatic cancer.
A variety of fundraising events took place throughout the year including numerous cake sales, a sponsored slim, and an Easter egg raffle. INS also pledged to donate a further £1 for every safety/security observation made and there were 494 safety/security observations made during the year, adding an additional £494 to the fund.
INS’ charity fundraiser, Toni Mullen, along with some members of the charity team, presented the cheque to Amy Hannagan and Lynne Quigley, from Pancreatic Cancer UK. Gill said she hoped INS’ donation would help to support the amazing work of the charity, who continually campaign for better care, treatment and research, to give pancreatic cancer the recognition it needs. Amy and Lynn were very pleased to accept the cheque on behalf of Pancreatic Cancer UK.
