International Nuclear Services appoints Seth Kybird as Managing Director
The board of world-leading nuclear transport company International Nuclear Services (INS) has confirmed the appointment of Seth Kybird as its new Managing Director.
Seth has been acting Managing Director of INS since October 2017 having previously been INS’s Commercial Director. Seth will assume the role of Managing Director with immediate effect following formal board approval of his appointment which was given in November. His appointment follows an open competition across the NDA’s group of businesses.
INS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and has extensive and proven expertise in the transportation of nuclear materials.
As Managing Director of INS, Seth will be responsible for the continued development of INS’s specialist nuclear transport, design and licensing services. He will oversee the delivery of INS’s emerging strategy which will see the organisation continue to deliver key aspects of NDA’s decommissioning mission, whilst using their unique capabilities to undertake strategic international work – an area of work they have enjoyed success in over recent years.
Kate Ellis, INS Chair and Commercial Director of NDA said:
“Seth has significant leadership experience in both the public and private sectors. He has a strong track record in tackling complex commercial challenges in the UK and internationally. I am delighted INS has secured a Managing Director of such calibre and experience and I look forward to continuing to work with him in driving forward delivery of INS’s vital work.”
Seth Kybird said:
“It’s a privilege for me to become the Managing Director of INS. I’m immensely proud of the role we play delivering specialist nuclear services in support of NDA’s strategy and on behalf of customers around the world. We are a highly-skilled team with unique capabilities and I’m looking forward to leading the organisation through the next phase of its development.”
Prior to taking up his role as Acting Managing Director of INS in October 2017 Seth had spent four years as the Commercial Director of the organisation. Seth began his career with Deloitte before joining KPMG’s Transaction Services team. Seth also spent time working for the UK Government’s Shareholder Executive team, focusing on the management of nuclear legacies through the NDA as well as the development of the UK new build programme. He joined the NDA in 2012, focusing on government relations before his move to INS.
