Commenting Graham Fisher, QA Manager for INS Ltd, said:
"We are constantly developing the services we provide and our management systems to support the business in achieving its goals and in providing a first class service to our customers. To this end we recently restructured our management system and made it readily available to INS employees on the company intranet. We are now continuing to develop this into a streamlined, process-based management system that is more relevant, easier to use and more responsive to the changing needs of our business and customers".
Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S)
Our team of Environment, Health and Safety professionals provide specialist advice and support covering the full range of our activities in nuclear materials processing and transport as well as conventional health, safety and environmental management.
The support provided by this specialist team is reflected by the excellent environment, health and safety (EH&S) performance of the business. However we must always strive for ever improving performance, against a back drop of increasing expectations and demands from our national and international
customers, regulators and stakeholders. The INS Environment, Health and Safety Team is well placed to provide the necessary culture, tools and advice to help the Company meet these challenges.
A recent example is the Barrow Marine Terminal which has just exceeded 1000 days without a lost time accident.
Commenting Rob Magraw, Head of EHS&Q for INS Ltd, said:
"The team at Barrow Marine Terminal, have worked hard and made great strides to improve their EH&S performance in recent years, this has been well supported by our partners James Fishers, the operations management at Risley, and a sustained programme of support, advice and training from my department. This achievement shows what can be done with teamwork and the ongoing commitment of everyone to improving our EH&S performance".
