Icy fun awaits St Joseph’s thanks to INS donation

Cheque presentation at St Joseph’s School, Workington

International Nuclear Services (INS), the world’s leading shipper of nuclear material, has donated £1,500 to St. Joseph’s School in Workington.

The money will go towards funding an ice skating rink to be opened at the school in order to raise money for the Mayor of Allerdale, Joe Holliday’s, charitable causes.

Presenting the cheque, Jane Foreman, Communications Manager from INS said: “This is an important way in which we can help offset the cost of this great new local attraction so that it can become an affordable revenue generator for local good causes.

“INS has operated out of West Cumbria for more than 30 years thanks to the support of the local community. It is a great pleasure to be able to say thank you to the community in some small way for that support because it’s not something we take for granted. I may even come and have a skate myself.”

The ice rink at the school will be open to the general public from November 4th-6th. The Mayor’s charities are Workington Town Community Development Foundation; The Stroke Association; Meningitis Trust; The Anaphylaxis Campaign & Multiple Sclerosis Society.
