Recent successful shipment of material from France to the US
INS recently completed a shipment of several ISOs of material from France to the United States, using the Atlantic Osprey.
As part of the overall United States Global Threat Reduction Initiative (GTRI), many companies are in the process of returning some of their nuclear materials to the US for storage in secure facilities. Given INS and PNTL’s past experience, companies’ worldwide request INS to apply this experience to the shipment of nuclear materials. This was the case in this recent shipment to the United States from France. The material was subsequently transported from the port to the Los Alamos site in the US.
Successful shipments such as this reinforce INS’ ability to support the safe, secure and cost-effective transport of nuclear materials.
