SMP welcomes Japanese Visitors
The Sellafield MOX Plant recently hosted a visit of representatives of Global Nuclear Fuels Japan (GNF-J).
GNF-J is the fuel vendor identified to provide the MOX design and components for a recently signed contract to supply fuel from SMP.
This visit, organised by International Nuclear Services (INS), followed the successful negotiation by INS, of an agreement for new commercial arrangements for SMP. This very significant development for SMP has allowed the NDA to instruct Sellafield Ltd to make significant engineering changes to SMP, in readiness for fuel manufacture for Japan.
