A new playground for local Primary School
Fundraising for a new outdoor all weather play and learn area at Beckermet Primary School has received a massive boost following a generous donation from International Nuclear Services (INS).
INS Head of Business Development, Nick Bold, a former governor of the school, said: “The school is planning to lay a new all weather surface which will provide a safe area for the children to enjoy their outdoor activities. INS’ donation of £2,500 has enabled the school to proceed with this project.”
Headmistress, Mrs Eyre added: "Presently the school doesn’t have an outdoor surface that can be used all year round by the children. The surface will be used as part of our outdoor curriculum for activities such as literacy work, scientific enquiry and exploration of habitats, as well as creativity in the arts using the natural environment. Without the donation from INS this project would not have got off the ground."
Each year INS has allocated funds for donations, supporting projects within the West Cumbria and Warrington areas. As a company, INS is looking to help the community to help itself and in particular likes to help the young, elderly and the disadvantaged.
