INS delivers a successful first year
International Nuclear Services (INS) has signalled a very successful first year in its Annual Review and Annual Report and Accounts published today, delivering value from recycling and generating a significant contribution in support of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority’s (NDA) mission.
The Reports provide an overview of performance for what is the maiden year for INS as a stand alone company. It paints the picture of the challenges and achievements in terms of financial, social, environmental, health and safety performance.
Key 2008/09 highlights include:
- Achieving a trading profit of £5.5m on a turnover of £56m
- Managed income with a value to the NDA of £673m
- New INF3 class vessel the Pacific Heron joined the fleet
- Uranium and waste successfully returned to Swedish customer AB SVAFO
- Plutonium shipped from UK to France
- The Pacific Teal was decommissioned with 96.1% recycled
- A Partnering Charter was signed between INS, NDA and Sellafield Ltd, setting out the vision and principles for their working relationship
- The combined charitable giving of both company and staff exceeded £14,000.
