MOX Fuel Shipment

The industries of three countries, namely Japan, the UK and France, have held discussions on MOX fuel shipments from Europe to Japan in close consultation with their respective governments. In this connection, we have decided to make an announcement on the next shipment as follows:

1.The country where the departing port is located will be announced some days prior to the departure from Europe*.

2.The departure date from Europe, the maritime route, the approximate timing of arrival in Japan, the departing port, the names of the vessels and the cargo will be communicated one day after the departure date from Europe.

This statement is being released simultaneously in Japan, France and the UK by utility companies, AREVA/NC and INS respectively.

*The departure date from Europe means the day when two vessels leave the French or UK territories and start a voyage for Japan in convoy.
