New Chairman for INS Board
Following his appointment as Chief Executive Officer to the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) John Clarke is now stepping down from his role as Chairman of the INS Board. John will be replaced in this role by NDA’s Strategy Director, Dr Adrian Simper.

INS completes ship management services transition to Serco

Dounreay Public Consultation Announcement
As previously reported (see news story from 4th January 2011 - Dounreay Radioactive Waste Substitution Consultation 2010) in December 2010, the Scottish Government and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) launched a public consultation regarding Dounreay Radioactive Waste Substitution. The consultation closed in March 2011 and subsequently the Scottish Government has reviewed the submissions and has developed its response. The scope of the consultation included consideration of a policy for substituting overseas radioactive wastes at Dounreay.

Fact-finding Mission from China
In late 2011, INS hosted a two-day visit to the UK, by a delegation of Engineers from the China Nuclear Power Engineering Co Ltd (CNPE), a subsidiary of the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC). The CNPE is the nuclear design and engineering organisation within China, tasked with designing facilities for China's back-end fuel-cycle programme.
