INS supports local choir
International Nuclear Services (INS), whose West Cumbrian office is located close to Whitehaven, was pleased to present the Whitehaven Male Voice Choir with a donation of £2,100 in support of their 2012 concert.
Sandy MacDonald, choir member, said: “The Whitehaven Male Voice Choir was absolutely delighted when INS decided to provide this financial assistance towards its Annual Concert. This year’s concert was an extra special one to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and we were thrilled to be able to have an outstanding guest singer, the exciting young Welsh soprano Gwawr Edwards as the choir’s special guest soloist.”
Founded in 1977, the present Whitehaven Male Voice Choir has established an enviable reputation among the musical world of male voices in Britain, along with appearances on local radio and television. The choir is proud to have helped raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity.
